After performing superbly in the first week, SRK’s one of the most anticipated film Dilwale bombed at the domestic box office in the second week. Despite holidays, the movie couldn’t get enough footfalls to post a decent collection in the second week. The drop in the collection was about 70% compared to the first week because of its poor content and poor-to-average rating by the moviegoers.

The coming of the Hollywood movie Star Wars to the Indian theaters has marred the collection of Shahrukh Khan’s Dilwale whereas its competitor Bajirao Mastani remained intact. Due to poor-to-average rating by the moviegoers, the movie lost screen counts as well as revenue to the Hollywood biggie. Though the drop in the collection was minimal (about 10%), the gap in the collection of Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani is widening now.
After posting a good total in the first weekend, SRK’s Dilwale witnessed a sharp decline in the collection during weekdays due to poor-to-average rating by moviegoers and the stiff competition posed by Bajirao Mastani. Dilwale was expected to have a better opening than Bajirao Mastani due to the presence of the big stars, but it lost the box office battle during weekdays as its competitor got better rating by the moviegoers.

The first week collection of SRK’s one of the most awaited movies Dilwale is out and it is now obvious that its competitor Bajirao Mastani affected it so badly in the domestic market that it became one of the underperforming films for Shahrukh Khan.
